Dating sucks. Period. You'll meet someone that you'll spark with in grad school, it's hard to meet people when you work with a bunch of misanthropic loners.

Dating DOES suck. Especially when you're a young professional in the corporate world.
Before I met DH I used to curse myself that I actually called off my wedding to my ex-fiance, who I'd met in college. I knew it was the right thing to do, but damn! I wasn't meeting anyone except IT men 20 years older than me and married who wanted a fling(a whole other story)!
But it all turned out okay, and I found what I was looking for.
I'm excited for you, going to a new state, a new life, a new school. It's going to be great, and I just KNOW that you're going to meet a Cheddarhead who shares your wonderful points of view. :) Or an Australian getting his PhD. Yeah. I'd love to come visit you in Australia....so get cracking on that as soon as you get to Wisconsin, okay? :)
And what about bradley? you can't forget him...or are you protecting HIS privacy now?? ;)
I came up as purple too, but it's not exactly the life I lead.
Don't be so down on yourself about dating. Weren't you on mission for like two of those years? and you made the adventurous blind leap to Austin where you knew no one?
